The first of the 1/2400 dios finished.

2 Small quick but very  vivid dios i wanted to make for some time now.Initialy in 1/700, they were getting just too big  so i settle for 1/2400 using the excellent for the scale GHQ models .Some extra details on the carroier added plus some more will be added once it is secured in its place in the dio.And yes, i did add people on board the carrier.

Italians are stylish,  period.The Roma as in trials painted pale white as i like it more.

The West Vorginia finished despite a minor setback when the matt varnish at the end went  all white.Different methods and chemical agents used and tried but in the end the best result was to simply repaint the affected areas.

Mt 1/200 Arizona waterlined and placed along the mooring quays at Pearl Harbor.The few wxtra sailors are from Preiser .

The Seawise Giant hull taking its general shape .A lot of putty and a lot of sanding but i am pleased the main hull lines are correct in scale and pretty  straight .This is going to be placed  in a dio depicting it as it was crossing the Hormuz straits  and along side it  the USS Iowa  which was patrolling in that area at the time (1988).The difference in size is  more than obvious.This ship must have been quite a spectacle  when viewed in real time .I thought i ll take a few quick shots  against a US carrier too just to get a better understanding how big that thing was.
